Greetings and welcome!
         THE PASTOR’S PEN

By now you know that I will be reassigned to Manchester First United Methodist Church as Sr. Pastor beginning on June.Rev.  Steve Angus will be your new pastor. I followed Steve at Bethel and Blackman United Methodist Churches in Murfreesboro back in the early to mid 80's.
I go to Manchester already with a connection to that great church. It is the church where my parents married some 59 years ago. It is the church that my grandfather took me to when was up and would the with him and my grandmother. Many of you have a connection with that church and have told me how warm and loving the congregation is.It is not my home church, but I do refer to it as my 2nd home church. There is much to be done for God's kingdom between now and time of my departure.
We will continue our three part series on "The Will of God".We will celebrate Mother’s Day, Pentecost, Family Camp, Communion, and Father's Day.We will celebrate with our graduating Seniors from FCHS.We will be in transition mode, and above all, will continue to be our shepherd.
Below is a note that I received recently from a sister congregation of United Methodist in Newtown, Ct. I want to share it with you. Read this note from them and be blessed.

On the Journey,

Bro. Randy

The speaker for our May 6th UMW meeting will be Regina McDevitt, whose topic will be Human Trafficking, which should be a very informative program.  Come join us at 10:30 a.m. in the Friendship SS Class and enjoy a light lunch afterwards.
·
If you’re interested in  joining a circle,  call Kay Wiseman at 962-1653, and she’ll be happy to help you select one.  There are circles that meet during the day and also at night to accommodate those ladies who work.  You will enjoy the camaraderie while accomplishing worthwhile church and community projects.
·
The UMW picnic at Suzie Herd’s house is on May 20th at 3:30 p.m.  Bring your favorite recipe.  We’ll carpool from the church parking lot at 3:00 p.m.  All ladies of the church are considered UMW members, so please attend this fun event.
